I am on a mission to travel on all buses and trams in Wrocław. If you are interested in what Wrocław Explorer is about, please read this: https://dominiksymonowicz.com/2023/05/28/domquest-wroclawexplorer-introduction/. This time, I will travel by tram for the first time, and I will cover line 22 between Pilczyce (on the west) – and Tarnogaj (on the south-east). When I was exploring Wrocław as a teenager, I didn’t include trams.
ROUTE
It runs from Pilczyce to Tarnogaj. Ut has 25 stops: Pilczyce, Metalowców, Bajana, Park Zachodni, DH Astra, Kwiska, Małopanewska, Niedźwiedzia, Wrocław Mikołajów (Zachodnia), Pl. Strzegomski (Muzeum Współczesne), Młodych Techników, Pl. Jana Pawła II, Pl. Orląt Lwowskich, Pl. Legionów, Arkady (Capitol), Dworzec Główny, Pułaskiego, Hubska (Dawida), Prudnicka, Kamienna, Bardzka, Nyska, Tarnogajska, Klimasa and Tarnogaj.

JOURNEY
This journey allows me to explore the south-east part of Wrocław that I haven’t seen since around 2000. I was a bit surprised that the line is going a different route between Wrocław Główny Railway Station and Hubska Street.

My journey started from enjoying view of Police earning pocket money for xmas.

Hubska Street is one of the places where you can see mixed old German architecture with polish-communist style flats.

Concrete flats always look depressing and rough, like life during socialist times. Many of these flats are painted with random happy colours to make them look more cheerful. However, it feels like a joker face and makes them look creepy.

When the tram turned to Armii Krajowej Street, I was surprised at how modern and spacious this street looked. However, when it turns to Tarnogajska Street, it starts well until you get to the end of the line when you have a mix of modern buildings, old German flats and Polish-socialist flats. The modern flats make this area ugly as they are not designed to create coherent space.

The whole journey took 41 minutes, which was 1 minute faster than the scheduled time.

After journey I decided to go for a coffee to Habza Cafe at Tarnogajska 49 that has 4.6* reviews. It was the worst coffee I drank in Wroclaw so far. Place looks very barebpone. In whole cafe, they have 1 comfy chair and rest are painful to seat seats.

CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS
- I have noticed that if I don’t feel 100%, I shouldn’t do it, and I need to explore the area more next time, but I guess running shoes are not a great choice when there is wet snow around.
CURRENT PROGRESS
At the time of writing this post, I travelled on X lines out of 105 lines. I stopped at least 135 of 942 stops (17.5% of all stops). I visited 28 stations (3% of all stops). Keep in mind that it still doesn’t include changes made to public transport in September’2023.
